Our news: Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Kyiv, day six We are still alive and do not give up. Unfortunately, the situation has worsened. Despite the fact that negotiations were held yesterday (everyone understands that they will not produce results), the shelling of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities has intensified. Kharkov was particularly affected, the residential areas of which the Russian fascists fired from rocket launchers and banned cluster bombs. Photos and videos of terrible resolutions are immediately removed from social networks and the Internet.
Many of my friends, who had previously stayed in Kyiv, today decided to leave in any way. However, there are practically no options left. In addition, men under 60 are not released under any circumstances. They say that there are two ways out: to go to the front or to the morgue. It is clear that in the conditions of such a humanitarian catastrophe, saving two parrots will not be understood.
On Roxy's condition: She's just withdrawn and very sad. With great difficulty, I was able to put it in a carrier to take it to the basement. It got much colder and it snowed. There is no heating in the basement and it is very cold to sit there most of the day. Today only at 10:00 in the morning I was able to return to the house. Roxy did not want to get out of the carrier for a long time and hissed at me like a snake, and she also had a very plaintive squeak. She doesn't even scream anymore. He just looks at me with pitiful eyes. She's sitting on my lap now and I don't want to disturb her.
About my condition: I have symptoms of pneumonia and I am very weak. Due to several days in a cold basement, not only did I not recover, but I began to feel worse. I will now look for all the medicines that I have. I decided not to go back to the basement, but to lie at home. I arranged a bed for myself on the floor in the corridor, where there are no windows and it will be safe during shelling. Nearby is Roxy's cage. I want to sleep now, as it is already 5 nights without sleep.
About vultures and hyenas: Maybe this is not good, but it seems to me that this should not be hidden. I got a call yesterday from one of the parrot breeders and said that he knows that my Roxy is with me in Kyiv. He offered me to sell it for $500 and promised that he would take the bird out and I would have money for food.
Now many Ukrainians are in despair, money and supplies are running out. Almost all shops are closed, and those that open for a couple of hours a day are almost empty, since they don’t deliver anything. Bread began to be delivered to some areas, but there is not enough of it for everyone. It is clear that soon exotic birds will no longer be available to anyone. There are many animals left on the streets. Before the war, there were many stray dogs in Ukraine, but they were given food and water. Now the streets are empty and no one helps these animals.
What's next? I will stay at home to recover. I won't go down to the basement. The power outages have already begun. Internet and mobile communications should be turned off soon. I will try to make one post every day.
I’m very grateful to all of you, this is very valuable support. Now Russian propaganda has earned a lot. I read under every material and video of the international media dozens of false and malevolent comments of Russian paid trolls (many have Arabic names). They justify Russia and Putin and say that the Ukrainians deserve it, that this is “retribution”, they say that we are all Nazis here. Please don't leave it.
I really appreciate your support and your prayers. I read every comment and your private messages. I'm sorry that I can't answer everyone. But every comment gives me hope. Please pray for us and the people of Ukraine! In touch XoXo"
