Hopeful Future Home Options

News in brief: Sunday, March 6, 2022, Kyiv

Our Dear friends,

Everything is fine with us. We survived another night and now we are starting a new day. The previous night had been the quietest of the day and Roxy slept in her cage. She recently woke up and now I’m preparing breakfast for her and myself.

Roxy is screaming again today and it doesn't annoy me at all. I'm even glad that I heard these familiar sounds.

Exactly at 9 am, the shelling began again, but for some reason there was no siren. Maybe because it's Sunday? We are already accustomed to and enjoy every minute of silence.

After breakfast I will read your wonderful wishes and advice. I also think about how and where we should leave after I recover and can leave first from Kyiv, and then, if the situation does not improve, from Ukraine. But I really hope that I won't have to leave the country.

I read that it is better to enter New Zealand with a parrot first, and then to Australia. I also want to understand if I can enter the US. I now already have an American visa and I have been to the USA many times. My priority now is the Anglo-Saxon countries, as I have an Australian Master of Laws degree and Ukrainian medical education.

I want to find a job to support myself and Roxy. I do not want to sit as a refugee and receive benefits. In principle, I am ready for any job. I’m responsible for Roxy and must provide her with good conditions. Post if my ideas are not quite logical. I love you all and thank you! XoXo

Are the CITES regulations waived for animal refugees? You will need to be sure of this before you plan to travel.

You may consider accelerated entry to Canada which has been announced. There is a large Ukrainian community in most cities, including Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Toronto. Tell me if I can do anything from Vancouver.

I found out this information that might be useful to you “Ukraine's medical universities are recognised and listed in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). This accreditation means that students are eligible to take the United States Medical Licensing Examinations and enter Postgraduate Medical (Residency) training in the United States.” I live in Rochester Ny. There is a large Ukrainian community here as well as Schools of medicine. There is a great demand for people in the medical fields.

I know the US is allowing refugees but don't know all the rules. I hope someone has a great suggestion for you. I hope you are able to leave soon and get well soon. So glad you are able to take your medicines now. Hugs and prayers.
