Our news: March 5, 2022, Kyiv, day ten
The last two days have been very busy and I almost didn't have time to write a long text. For those who follow the development of our drama, two important events happened yesterday: I got the antibiotics I really need and our heroine Ola and her assistants managed to smuggle the first batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which was collected by wonderful people from our group and others who did not remain indifferent to our misfortune.
Collected food and feed, as well as other things, are still very much waiting in besieged Kyiv. Over the past two days, I have been asked for help with food by about ten owners of large parrots from Kyiv.
The cargo is really expected and thanks to everyone who came up with and carried out this heroic action. I hope that soon gifts from friends will be delivered to Kyiv.
As I said earlier, I started taking antibiotics, which miraculously found their way into my hands. They cost two carrots. Yes, in besieged Kyiv, food became the new currency. Everything is as it was during WW2. But Ukrainians are very persistent and have already adapted to such conditions. Every day people go hunting for food. They go to dozens of shops and grocery stores in the hope that they will find a store that sells at least something.
There is only one shop in my area that delivers bread once a day. Sometimes volunteers deliver frozen convenience foods, but they are rarely given away for free. There is less and less cash, and bank cards are rare, where you can use them, or rather, almost nowhere.
On Roxy's condition: She has become more active in the last two days. Perhaps she noticed that her dad's condition began to improve. She is very calm, does not scream, and only when it is time for a walk (we have everything strictly at the set time), she says very quietly “it's time to walk”. No screaming like before if I don't release it right away. During the last two days during the walk, Roxy does not leave me, sits on my shoulder and knees. She is very gentle, kisses my ear and says "I love you." She is very afraid of being separated from me, she probably understands what a threat she is now.
About my condition: I really got better. I use strong antibiotics for the second time in my life and did not even expect that they act so quickly. However, the antibiotic has another effect. I really want to sleep and slept this afternoon for almost 6 hours. During this time, Roxy sat quietly and played with her toys.
Today I put a video from the previous comfortable life. This is last Easter. Bright holiday and Roxy shared it with me. Then there was a lockdown and we were together at home for many days, we could not go out. Our relationship has grown stronger during the pandemic.
I think many of you then had more time to communicate with your pets. See how carefully Roxy eats. She is like a real lady. Her movements are graceful. I love you all and tomorrow we will continue to inform you about our history. XoXo
She is so beautiful and I love how she gently moved the rooster away
