Not a day without miracles
Unfortunately, my chronicle was interrupted due to a change in the situation and a number of events that have occurred in recent days. It should be noted that the developments were positive.
On Sunday, I noticed that I was mentally and physically exhausted. Chronic lack of sleep, as well as providing support to numerous friends and acquaintances, led to a feeling of fatigue and apathy. I noted that I was tired of news about the war.
Today, for the first time, I saw closely traces of destruction and military order in the city. After receiving the long-awaited parcel, I had to distribute part of the stock to the owners of parrots. This package contained food, heating pads, and medicine that some parrot owners were interested in. However, most of them are waiting for food for parrots. I hope it will be in the second package, which was miraculously found today. Christina called me today, who said that she had our package. Christina lives in the suburbs of Kyiv and I will need to find an opportunity to visit her. This is quite difficult and will even be impossible in the next two days.
In Kyiv today, the mayor announced a two-day curfew. We are forbidden even to go outside, except for the need to hide in a bomb shelter. Therefore, the distribution of products and medicines is paused. Besides, if there is food in the second package, then in two days we will be able to do more.
I was lucky to find volunteer Timur yesterday, who lives not far from me and has an electric car. There are other volunteers as well.
Another miracle happened today (You need to keep praying). I'm really lucky. Since Monday, I have been looking for an opportunity to draw up documents for travel abroad. Unfortunately, my veterinarian left Ukraine at the very beginning of the war. However, today I accidentally saw that the veterinary clinic was open. I hurried there and met my veterinarian's husband who was packing. I asked him for the necessary documents and he immediately agreed, picked up the notes and gave me several conclusions based on the results of a scheduled inspection (once every six months). Now this issue is practically resolved.
About the situation in the city: Today I was in several districts of the city, even in the center. Powerful fortifications are everywhere, documents and car cargo are checked. I saw several damaged buildings and cars today. There were killed and wounded civilians in Kyiv.
Due to the deteriorating situation in the city, I plan to pick up my father and Corrie and take them to my sister. The father lives on the other side of the Dnieper River and there is information that the bridges will be blown up
On Roxy's condition: She really wants to play. Unfortunately, I have very few toys left, since it is now impossible to buy them in the city. But Roxy is not discouraged. She plays with a ball and rips up boxes.
About my condition: I’m very, very tired. I noticed yesterday that it became difficult to restrain emotions. Tears just rolled when my friend told how she could not leave her husband at the border and returned to him straight from the border crossing to Poland. She said goodbye to her husband and was already on her way to passport control with her five-year-old son. The son asked: “But why does dad stay and we won’t see him again?” The young woman decided that she would stay with her husband and they would not be separated. Like in the movie Titanic, when Rose jumped out of the boat and stayed with Jack. I am very grateful to everyone for the support, and especially the prayers that continue to create miracles.
I also thank everyone who helps to collect information on Sweden, and some have offered to stay with them. Tomorrow we will be at home and I will have time to respond to your wonderful comments and private messages. I love everyone! XoXo
Wishing you and Roxy only the best in health in safety throughout your upcoming journey. We can't imagine what you are going through but please understand that we stand with you always. Please keep us updated as you can.
I pray that you all stay safe. I just found a link called https://www.ukrainetakeshelter.com for anyone in Ukraine that may need help with housing.
I hope you safely succeed in everything you are aiming to do. It must be so worrying, hectic and draining.
My thoughts continue to be with you. I wish there was a way you could build some physical and mental strength back up but the impossible situation, in turn, must be making it impossible.
Your updates are hugely appreciated. There are a lot of us rooting for you.
Much love to you all. ❤
