NOT NOTICED SUMMER
So summer has come. This year it is difficult for us to distinguish between seasons, but summer is impossible to miss. The first month of summer is usually associated with peonies. I love soft pink peonies. Every year, when these beautiful flowers appear, I look for a variety of exactly the same shade as Roxy feathers.
Previously, such peonies were brought to Kyiv from the Netherlands. However, this year only local flowers are on sale. This June we are not upset and are happy with any opportunity to touch this natural perfection. Feel this wonderful aroma. It distracts from reality.
We don't have much change. We have not received the documents yet and the cage for Roxy too.
However, I started taking writing classes online. So far there has been only one lesson and I have not yet learned what I planned. I want to figure out how to get the manuscript of my book right and how to find a publisher. The course will last a month and I still expect to get the information I need.
On Roxy's condition:
My favorite bird is now getting a lot of fresh fruit and greens. Dandelion flowers have already ended, but there are their leaves. Roxy is already running out of toys and we started saving them. However, there are cardboard boxes and, of course, a chest of drawers, which I allow her to finish chewing :)
About the situation in Kyiv:
today the city was again subjected to rocket fire. The sounds of the air raid alarm sounded early in the morning and therefore not everyone had time to hide in bomb shelters. It's good that no one died, but there is destruction of houses.
Thank you for your support, prayers and kind words. We are still waiting and getting ready to leave, but we are very tired of waiting. We don't have a choice. Sending love and hope to everyone. XOXO!
Best wishes,
Sergii and Roxy
Hi, Sergii-
I, as well, feel your frustration at things not moving forward. Again, if there is any help any of us can provide, please do not hesitate to tell us how- we shall act immediately. Hearing from you, and checking has become a part of my morning routine. As far as your book- I think you are far underestimating how much of a best-seller that it will become. You can write as much as you can in bits and starts, and send it to someone you trust, for back-up, outside of the country, off of your server- Text, pictures, all of it. If anyone were to question the authenticity, ever, the metadata will back you up, no worries. Just…
I am pleased to read your post and see such a beautiful picture of Roxy with the pink peony. I feel frustration for you having to wait so long to exit when the attacks are still taking place upon the city. I have been hoping that this senseless assault upon Ukraine would end but it seems that the mad dictator and his evil supporters are determined to continue. I look forward to your book being published. I shall encourage others to buy a copy and be able to read your first hand account of what has taken place. I pray that your exit will be soon and for the safety of you, Roxy and all your family and friends.
It must be some light relief to see nature's beauty showing through. The evil segment of humanity would do well to look at nature more closely and with more appreciation. Resorting to violence and destruction is a disgusting act inflicted on a planet that, those who perpetrate such acts, do not deserve. Far too many innocents of all species have suffered true Hell on Earth and I wish it would all just end so you can get a second chance at your lives.
Please do persevere with your book. I am sure many people across the globe would read it - you write so eloquently and articulately - sharing your experience is the sort of thing the world needs t…
I’m so glad to hear from you! I’m not sure why I feel this but I feel very strongly that positive things are coming for you.. it could be simply your thoughts being blessed by the beauty of the poppies.. it could be more! I have been praying for you and I feel Gods love for you and Roxi!! Sending my love! 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” — Jeremiah 29:11.
