We Never Stop

WE NEVER STOP

The Universe still does not let us go from Kyiv, but we do not want to give up. Therefore, for the time being, I am trying to better prepare for the trip and resolve all issues that cannot be left unresolved.

On Friday, I managed to get my documents and personal belongings out of my office in the city center. Due to recent shelling, we are afraid that there may be difficulties with the removal of things later.

Analysts predict that Russian troops may resume massive shelling of Kyiv in May. I have not used my office for more than 2 months and practically do not work at all. Legal services in Kyiv are not needed now. Therefore, the office was no longer needed.

After the Ukrainian post offices resumed work in Kyiv (not all), it became much easier to deliver humanitarian aid. However, due to the shortage of gasoline in the city, there were much fewer cars. I’m already used to walking and carrying gifts for feathered pets and their owners with the help of a large bag on wheels.

The weather is not good yet. Spring in Kyiv is very cold and late this year. However, in the grass I see a lot of dandelions. Roxy loves them in autumn. Now it is a significant part of her diet. She loves not only flowers, but also leaves.

On Roxy's condition:

My fluffy princess gave me a nasty surprise on Saturday. During her morning walk, she ate part of a drawer in her locker. And she began to destroy the box in front of me. She didn't want to stop despite my screams. When I tried to take her out of there, she began to hiss like a snake. I was only able to distract her by phone.

About the situation in the city:

life in the city does not stop, but anxiety is felt everywhere. Everyone is trying to continue their normal life, but this is just an imitation.

Soon my father should get a passport to travel abroad. I also plan to arrange an eye surgery for him in Western Ukraine in a private clinic, since medical insurance is not yet available due to the war. We are also waiting for the last (large) cage for Roxy. In the new place, we want to be able to keep Roxy and Corrie in comfortable conditions right away.

I thank everyone for your support and prayers. We are alive and safe. Sending love and hope to everyone! XoXo

Best wishes,

Sergii & Roxy

Please don't wait until the shelling starts again to leave. The Analyst may be right but you're not dealing with a sane person in Russia. His shelling is sporatic geographically across Ukraine. I'm sure animals, like people there are trying to cope through the hell you are living. So it's no wonder Roxy has some undesired coping mechanisms right now. It's a small price considering what you both have been through. Let her chew. 🙂 Be safe and take care.

Do not give up hope of your exit from Ukraine. I have heard similar analysis that the shelling of Kyiv will intensify in May so I hope you can make your exit to a safer place soon. It sounds like Roxy is still in her hormonal phase. I have a Goffins cockatoo and she can turn from being a sweet girl to a bad tempered snappy bird. I hope the weather warms up for you soon. Thoughts and prayers for you, Roxy, Corrie and your family.

Thank you for the update Sergii.

I hope your planning leads to you and your family's safe exit.

Poor Roxy - you are both facing very different and difficult times now she has become hormonal. I don't know how long these phases last; I hope it isn't long for both of yours sakes.

I continue to think of you and all my hopes are focused on you escaping.

Much love.

Sergii, we will “never stop” praying, and hopes of your departure from Ukraine the safe way…I do believe that there is someone up above watching over you, Roxy, and your family…I’m so sorry that the weather has not warmed up for you, and your fluffy princess, but this is now May, and it’s about to change for better weather conditions… You are doing all of the right procedures by taking important documents out of our laces where shelling may destroy them..as well you continue to give out generous humanitarian aid to the less fortunate…God will reward you, my friend… Your love. and devotion to Roxy will not go unnoticed, so just be patient as you are moving one step at a…
